Merry X-mas
Kiley got me some more Steelers stuff, so they better play a lot more games this year or I will have to wait a long time to use it. She got me a Steelers shirt that's cool, a hat, and a Terrible Towel that I'm looking forward to waving around on Saturday.
I have trained my backups at work and they should be ready to take over for me when I leave on Tuesday. I think there's a work order in for me to move to the 11th floor but I haven't heard anything else. I'd expect to hear something today or tomorrow about what exactly I'll be doing on Tuesday. If I don't hear anything then I won't have anything to do, so why would I even come in that day?

I got a job!

I got a call yesterday from Human Resources offering me a job I had applied for back in September. I will be on salary, which just means that I don't get paid extra for working overtime...uh oh. It also means I will be getting a 20% raise, so that will help a bunch. I will be starting Dec. 27, which is sooner than my current supervisor would like, but it's her loss and my gain. That's completely literal. I do so much and don't get compensated, so hopefully my hard work has and will pay off because I take the initiative a lot more than I ever did.
I gave Kiley her Chrismakah present last night. It was a set of portable speakers to use in conjunction with her iPod. I think she liked them, but it's always so hard to tell with women because they will lie to your face and tell you they like stuff when they are secretly planning their move to Florida with their secret work boyfriend...hey, you never know.
Ooh, I received Aqua Teen Hunger Force season 4 on DVD the other day. I had pre-ordered that sucker months ago. So far I've only seen about 5 episodes, but they have been pretty good. Anything with the Moonenites is classic, and I am happy to say there are 2 episodes of them on this season. The intros also have them.

Just waiting for it...
I have not heard anything back about my interview yet, but since I know they can take up to a month to get back with you, I could care less. I have people that are asking around to see anyone has heard anything yet and no dice.
The first snowstorm of the year is coming today and all hell is breaking loose. There are already some schools that are closed and a)it's definitely not snowing right now and b)it's not even that cold out. I think that's ridiculous, but hey, if you're a kid, you'd be loving it. If you're a parent, you are pissed, because not only do you have to deal with the snow that is predicted to fall, but you also have to find some sort of baby sitter or daycare for your kid that is out of school because the school board is paranoid. There have been times when they said it would be terrible and then we see nothing. Like a few weeks ago when there were big storms coming through and everyone said we were going to get a bunch of tornadoes and we got nothing.
Now last year when we got our big snow, I was able to make it into work, though my car was stuck under a foot of snow on the street, but I made it anyway. Maybe 10% of people made it to work last year. Now instead of being praised/rewarded for coming into work on such a dangerous day, I was punished, simply by being at work while 90% of the rest of Louisville's workforce was at home in bed. I run the economy yet I am a retard. This year is a bit different though. I don't live 10 blocks from work anymore, but I also don't park on the street either.

Good things to happen
Things are looking up as of last week. I had 3 interviews on Friday for a new job that would be "salaried", so I would no longer be an hourly employee. The interviews went well and they loved the graphs I showed them that I make each day.
Also on Friday I won a $50 gift card to Wal-Mart for being the biggest producer at work.
After 3 years of complaining about not having a phone, I finally got one on Friday. Seems like a big day for me since nowadays, a phone at your desk is a sign of status, or a sign that you're a customer service rep, which no one wants to be.
The poor Steelers lost to the Bengals yesterday. I had hopes that they would come back, and I knew they could, but it just didn't happen. I still believe in the Steelers and I know they can win the rest of their games and make it into the playoffs and show the league exactly what they can do. BigBen was great except for the 3 interceptions, but aside from that, when you throw close to 400 yards in a game where your thumb is in a splint/cast, you are allowed a little room for mistakes. I say that game would have been a lot better had that stupid kickoff not been run back by the Bengals. That was just ridiculous.
