Hurricane
I have seen images of hurricane destruction before, nothing really different from tornado damage, except on a little wider scale. The difference between this hurricane and the one that hit Homestead, FL is that there is massive flooding. The flooding got worse after the hurricane was gone because of the broken levies in New Orleans. The fact that the whole town is underwater makes it a crazy scene. Since the water keeps rising, who knows when we'll all be able to see some female flesh on Fat Tuesday. It makes me wish I had seen the city before all of this, since it will never be the same.
There is massive looting in New Orleans and I don't blame them one bit. Hell, I'd be looting even if I didn't live down there. Doesn't it make sense that if all of the goods are going to be destroyed by water anyway, we might as well make the most of it and give the stuff to people who need it....everyone in N.O.! What are all the Wal-Marts going to do with their milk that cannot be refrigerated because there's no electricity? Those things need to be stolen and passed out immediately because they aren't going to be sold later on. Hell, nothing is going to be sold in stores for months anyway. I can't stress how much I would love to be down there and help rescue people. With all of the national guard in Iraq, who is left to help? People might say, "Just pack up and go down there, people need your help" but even though it seems necessary and the right thing to do, would an employer really allow you to just leave work for an undisclosed amount of time...hell no. Work must go on, even in the event of disasters, which leads me to wonder, when the end comes, will I be at my desk working, or making the most of the last few hours of people's lives?

3-day weekend

I can't remember everything from this weekend and that tells me I should just post something every day and get it over with. We saw The Hawk on Friday, good as usual. I was tired and drunk before I got there and luckily was able to stay for the whole show.
Kiley and I had a lazy drunken Saturday. She came down with a rash that quickly spread to various areas; arms, chest, feet, eyelid! We couldn't figure out what it was, nor could the doctor, so what are we paying them for again? I feel so bad for her because I know how it must feel with the burning and all. I thought this morning that it was like she had ingested some poison ivy, either by eating (not likely) or by smoking/inhaling (not likely) or by having the oils come into contact with her bloodstream (who knows). The last one would explain why it's spreading internally, which also would kind of rule out any sort of food allergy. She needs a damn shot of steriods because that's what I got when I had poison ivy from hell and it made it go away fairly quickly. The doctors ruled out poison ivy firsthand though.
Yesterday, Monday, my NCAA football 2006 arrived and I played it diligently. I like having options of all kinds of games to play. I have my own Heisman game running with UofL and I have a dynasty game running with Miami. I had Miami play UofL during the dynasty and the Louey got rocked 49-0. Something was really off on that game because it was too easy.

Apparently I can't read for crap...
I was watching an eBay auction for NCAA Football 2006 for the PS2 that was going to end in an hour. Then I looked at the seller's other items and saw another NCAA Football game that had no bids, was ending at the same time, and the price was only $4.00, so i bid on it and won. After I had already paid for the game $7.00 total with shipping, and thinking I had the best steal in the world, I realized that the game I bought was NCAA Football 2005!!! I was so pissed. At least I'll have one football game that I can play, but I wanted the new one dammit. I'm still watching other auctions for the 2006 game; one ends tonight at 8:45, and I am the current highest bidder. I just decided to put in my max bid now and see what happened, even though I know I will be outbid in an hour or so. I guess I don't have to be as focussed on the auctions now that I already paid for a game. If I can get my hands on a 2006, then I suppose I'll try to sell the 2005 game, either to EBGames or on eBay. I just really wanted the 2006 game because Louisville is ranked 1st in the Big East. They did really well last year so it don't matter, but it's really all about having the newest game with the best graphics and most features and such.

Manhattan Grill

I'm finally getting my hands on a Grand Central Burger from Manhattan Grill. I love their burgers more than any other in the Louey. Their location isn't very good for parking, and they are only open until 4:00 or something like that, but they do deliver and that's always a plus. I'm never really able to order with the people at work because I never have cash on me, but since I went to the fair last night, I got some cash on me. I brought my lunch today too, so I can either eat a whole bunch or save the lunch I brought for tomorrow, though I always like to buy food out on a payday, especially after weeks of bringing my own lunch. I can tell that I have saved some money these last few weeks and that's good.

KY State Fair: Louisville, KY

Yesterday Kiley and I went to the fair. I wanted her to see the "Ugly Lamp Contest" and it was interesting as usual. We also checked out the fish and fishtank competition because those are cool sometimes too. I liked the photography contest because it made me realize that a lot of pictures I have taken could have been entered at the fair.
I ate a burger that didn't strike me as being of "fair quality", more like a McDonald's hamburger, and those are small. Kiley got some "Sha-Wings" and they were pretty good. We got some good grill smells in our noses, as well as some bad cattle smells.

New additions

So I added a few things to the site. I added links to the guestbook and the Wiki (still iffy on that one). I also added 2 pages to the blog, my page for writing and my page for relgious rants. My writing page doesn't have anything on it yet because I'd need to have the texts on hand, and I do not as of now. I think I'll add a little crappy poem I have here at work. The religion page does have stuff on it because that's really what I wanted the site to have. Maybe I'll make the whole blog part just about religion. I plan on creating a pics page and an interests page. I don't have many links to stuff I like because I don't really follow other people's leads.
I'm slowly learning the inns and outs of the Memebot system and I think it will take a little longer before I get the site how I want it. All the templates and stuff are a little confusing and not everything is in nice and neat html code so I can't just copy and paste into FrontPage like I'd prefer to do, but whatever.
I'm currently trying my darndest to get myself a copy of NCAA Football 2006 for the PS2 on eBay, but I keep limiting my max price to $30-35, and that is hard to win a new game. Of course it's for my birthday, I like to buy myself presents because I know what I want and what I want I get when I want it and then I get it. Got it?
I used to have a webpage at Geocities back when they started, but they since have been taken over or beaten up by Yahoo! and since then I have no free webpage there. I had years of goodies saved up on their server, everything for simple but neat JavaScript programs, to neat pictures I collected, to a page with an alphabetical list of bands that I liked. I did the page in high school, or even middle school and it lasted me a good while, but there were too many damn advertisements and such on there that there wasn't anyplace for any new info really.

Velocity
Today I had my letter to the editor published in Velocity. I had originally forgotten what I had wrote, but it all comes back to me now, since I can read it again. A lot of stuff was left out, but that's news for you. Only the really relevant stuff that furthers their own point is published.

Waverly Hills Sanitorium

There's nothing better than a good ghost story, and there's nothing better than a good ghost story that is non-fiction. This picture is taken from space, because it's so damn scary to get near it. If you take a picture of the building at night, you could be lucky enough to notice a light in one of the windows. Of course, the building doesn't have any power, so that light you are seeing is just a plain old anomoly... which is a fancy word for a ghost in a picture.

B

This is B, the most B-eautiful half-male doggy around. He owns Old Louisville, so don't give him any lip or he'll rack your nuts.

We War On The 'Morrow!
Call me a hypocrite, but since my original webpage apparently has some sort of obsolete JavaScript in it, I am unable to view it. And since all i really need to do is rant and rave about crap that bothers me, and enlighten people about issues they neglect to really insightfully think about, I bring myself to the last bastion of free speech, the stupid blog! Read it! Hate it! (sign my guestbook)
